Chicago based experimental folk band Tenci prepare for the release of their sophomore album A Swollen River, A Well Overflowing with their expansive new single 'Sour Cherries'. Having made a name for themselves with 2020's My Heart Is An Open Field for their spaciously arranged raw and emotional folk music, Tenci expand their musical palette further on 'Sour Cherries' a warm lilting track that patiently builds into a vast sonic landscape with softly droning strings, unexpected triumphant horn sections and brief descents into dissonance  all anchored by frontperson Jess Shomans unique vocal texture. In her words Jess describes the song; “‘Sour Cherries’ is very simply about succumbing to the bittersweet feelings of love.”  A Swollen River, A Well Overflowing is set for release on November 4th on Keeled Scales. -Toby Evans-Jesra
